Everybody should watch The Haunted Palace because Roger Corman is the king of awesomeness, but also because it has the best evil man cursing people while in the process of being burned alive scene in movie history. But it's Vincent Price, did you expect it to suck?

And I had the pleasure of watching The Lurking Fear on the big screen at the last Lovecraft Festival. I say pleasure because the only time I've laughed harder in a group that big was when I was the MST3K movie in the theatre. The comparison is a valid one. Take from that what you will.

I actually really like Horror Hotel even though it is somewhat dated, but its really not a Lovecraftian movie in my opinion but a pretty much straight witchcraft/Satan thing. You can tell it is really low budget but the scenes in Whitewood (where it always seems to be night) and the Raven's Inn are truly disturbing. The B&W actually enhances the creepiness. However the lame ending pretty much ruins the whole thing. Watch it for the first 95% of the film.

This film is in the public domain so there are places where you can download it legally.
