From Toledo Free Press:
“Fortuna’s” run at the Lovecraft Film Festival was met with great acclaim, with standing-room-only crowds at both screenings. It was one of the finalists for the festival’s “Best Short” award, and Malone said he has been told that the festival’s director is recommending the film for screening at the California version of the event this September.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled,” Malone said. “I think Lovecraft fans are in a lot of ways the kinds of people who would be drawn to a story like the one we’re telling.”

Great movie. The use of tone and contrasting black and white is fantastic and helps create a foreboding atmosphere throughout the film. Loved the twisted trees and the black, eerie scenery tinged with death. The plot was well thought out and seemed to flow from one event to the other, leaving me wanting more at the end.

Hitchcock might have taken a lesson from this filmmaker in how to establish and maintain the proper atmosphere. This is an excellent film, to say the least.
