I’ve remarked before that the “little guys” seem to do better with Lovecraft stories on film than the big studios. They do it out of love, trying to stay true to the story.

I have many of these in my personal Lovecraft file while most of them are interesting and some are well done, it just that trying to translate to film what Lovecraft wrote is very hard to do. I do find many of the movies and films that based on Lovecraft’s work to be better, if the story is done with respect. Having said that I do enjoy spoofs of Lovecraft’s stories, the one hat come to mind is “To Cast a Deadly Spell”. I think it is on of the best ones done that way. So I have a few films to add to my collection, well done.
