I have a Lovecraftian weird western series called MERKABAH RIDER. It’s about a Hasidic gunslinger tracking the renegade teacher who betrayed his mystic Jewish order of astral travelers to the Outer Gods. The Rider pits Judeocentric magic against Shub-Niggurath, the Yithians, Nyarlathotep, and other dangers in the course of the series as he learns the depths of his master’s betrayal and the scope of the true nature of the universe. I have a little book called That Which Should Not Be. It is my love letter to Lovecraft. Description below.
Miskatonic University has a long-whispered reputation of being strongly connected to all things occult and supernatural. From the faculty to the students, the fascination with other-worldly legends and objects runs rampant. So, when Carter Weston’s professor Dr. Thayerson asks him to search a nearby village for a book that is believed to control the inhuman forces that rule the Earth, Incendium Maleficarum, The Inferno of the Witch, the student doesn’t hesitate to begin the quest.
Weston’s journey takes an unexpected turn, however, when he ventures into a tavern in the small town of Anchorhead. Rather than passing the evening as a solitary patron, Weston joins four men who regale him with stories of their personal experiences with forces both preternatural and damned. Two stories hit close to home as they tie the tellers directly to Weston’s current mission.
His unanticipated role as passive listener proves fortuitous, and Weston fulfills his goal. Bringing the book back to Miskatonic, though, proves to be a grave mistake. Quickly, Weston realizes he has played a role in potentially opening the gate between the netherworld and the world of Man. Reversing the course of events means forgetting all he thought he knew about Miskatonic and his professor and embracing an unknown beyond his wildest imagination.

I am about 2/3 of the way through a book called “Chaos, Arizona” It is set around the turn of the century (1900s) at the end of the old west. The protagonist is a GLO (General Land Office predecessor to the BLM) official named Sandstrom who is in charge of homesteads, reservations, trading posts and over-seeing the mining and ranching in east central Arizona. A family of homesteaders are discovered dead in strange circumstances and the only survivor is found in a near catatonic state with a local band of Yavapai Indians. When he comes to he tells of something that came out of an old mine shaft deep in the earth. A strange woman named Deborah assumes care for the boy and tells Sandstrom more of what this all portends.

It’s not my book but I highly recommend it, The Gentleman From Angell Street: Memories of H. P. Lovecraft. It was written by Lovecraft’s friends in Providence, Muriel and C. M. Thanks for the opportunity Mike. I unwittingly wrote a Lovecraftian book in college. “The Portal Stone”. (http://www.amazon.com/The-Portal-Stone-ebook/dp/B004S81WOI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330371074&sr=8-1) It was developed from a short story that won a small writing contest.
A freak fall storm results in a lightening strike on the main building of the campus which opens a long sealed room containing an ancient evil. Parallel stories follow several college students and local kids as the evil begins to spread through the campus and surrounding town.
Drew from the genre, but was not following any established canon. Had some mild interest from agents and publishers in the years following, but it never got picked up. Self-published on Kindle a couple years ago and sell one every now and again, but don’t market it at all. One very nice, positive unsolicited review. It was written in the late 80s so it’s got a very period feel, lots of pop culture references and the locale is a real college, though the name was changed to, again unwittingly, a very Lovecraftian name “Provinceton”, but set in the midwest.

Nice, Mike. Thanks for the opportunity. My WWII historical/Lovecraftian horror novel is soon going out of print from Marietta Press. It’s a story of true-to-life war experiences coupled with dark mystery as an unknown, menacing force appears in the Pacific Theater. I’m a big fan of pulp, and a bigger fan of Lovecraft. Out of my many many short stories and 12 fantasy novels, the Lovecraft influence is evident in many.
My pulp anthology, THE ZOMBIE RAY FROM OUTER SPACE & OTHER PULP TALES (http://www.amazon.com/Zombie-Outer-Space-Other-Tales-ebook/dp/B008RAE470/) features not only the titular novella, which is rather Lovecraftian, but THE ELDRITCH HORROR FROM BEYOND THE NETHER VOID, a straight up Lovecraft pastiche, THE CAPTAIN AND THE QUEEN, a mash up of Lovecraft with Classic Star Trek, and another somewhat Lovecraftian tale, THE PYRAMID OF SKULLS.

Jeff Williams, a young Lieutenant who is injured in the first days of his tour in Vietnam is found and then recruited by a group called Farview who specialize in Remote Viewing. Knowing that something big is about to happen the team follow the leads that take them from The Majestic Hotel Saigon to Paris,1898 London and the tomb of the last emperor of Vietnam. Ending in a race against time through the first throws of the Tet Offensive to a buried temple and a showdown against a foe far more dangerous than the North Vietnamese.

My novel, Blind Shadow, co-authored with James A. Moore, is set in a rural mountain town in Northern Georgia. Two old friends, Sheriff Carl Price and private detective Wade Griffin, investigate the murder of another friend. What begins as a crime novel takes a sudden left turn into Lovecraftian horror when the lawmen begin to learn what truly hides in the shadow of the mountains.
One reviewer noted that the book read as if H.P. Lovecraft had written an episode of JUSTIFIED. Guns, Elder Gods, martial arts, horrible creatures from the Outer Dark, plus the world’s most dangerous English Literature professor.

H. P. Lovecraft in the Merrimack Valley by David Goudsward
This is my treatment of Lovecraft’s connections with the Merrimack Valley of coastal Massachusetts and New Hampshire, tracing HPL’s’s initial visits in the 1920s to such towns as Newburyport, Haverhill, and Hampstead, where he met such colleagues as Charles W. “Tryout” Smith, Myrta Alice Little, and Edgar J. Davis. Later visits clearly inspired many of the topographical features in such tales as “The Shadow over Innsmouth” and “The Shadow out of Time.” This book is illustrated with dozens of photographs of the locale, including many period snapshots that show the towns and other landmarks as they would have been seen by Lovecraft himself.

While clearing a clogged storm drain he is accidentally stabbed by the dagger that had been stolen to repay a gambling debt. Surrounded by rats as death approaches he is given a second chance at life when that presence invades his body.

Set in just post work war one Berlin and a Ukraine, it is an “Erotic, Occult, pulp thriller,” with an interesting difference… It is historically correct in many details, places, people, and traditions.
