  1. I’ve never seen this before! I wonder what Lovecraft made of the illustrations? I doubt if he looked at them and thought that the artist had recreated exactly what he had being seeing in his mind’s eye. It makes you realise how much Lovecraft would have appreciated the modern day illustrations if he was alive today…..

  2. Had to buy a copy. It is reprinted in Astounding Stories: The 60th Anniversary Collection (long out of print but a lot cheaper than the magazine).

  4. Magnificent! Although… despite knowing it was done to provide a sense of scale, one still wants to shake the artist and say, “no humans and great race in the same shot!”
