Most of you probably know about the Kickstarter for the upcoming Lovecraft eZine films. What you may not know is that these aren’t just films; they will be presented as a sort of Lovecraftian Twilight Zone series.
And here’s something that I’m announcing for the first time: I’ll be playing the “Rod Serling” role, as host!
(Of course, don’t get me wrong — we’re not trying to be Twilight Zone. But we do like the concept, which was also done by Alfred Hitchcock Presents and by The Outer Limits.)
There simply are not enough quality Lovecraftian films available, and there certainly isn’t a TV show available. We’d like to change that. If you know me, then you know that getting it right is important to me. I’ve done my best to create a magazine that every Lovecraft fan can enjoy, with quality Lovecraftian fiction.
My film partners and I are bringing that same determination to this web TV series. And it’s not just a Lovecraftian film series, it’s a series that adapts Lovecraft eZine stories. Many people have asked me if I’m involved with the filming, if the eZine is really involved or if I’m just giving away the stories to someone else to film.
That’s not the case. I’m 100% involved, and I’ll be the host of this series — if it happens.
This web TV series is not going to happen if we don’t get funded. As I write this, there are only 10 days left, and we are at $7,803 pledged with a goal of $18,000.
Let me be brutally honest: I’ll go with whatever the fans want. If you want a hell of a great Lovecraftian film series, you’re going to get that. But if it’s not something that the fans want enough to fund, then I can live with that, too. Believe me, I’d rather do this project, because I think it will be ground-breaking — I really do.
But honestly, it’s up to you.

(Did you know: Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) and Katie Parker (Absentia) have both been signed to star in these films?)
