We’ve all watched horror movies and thought, “Just leave! Then you’ll be safe!” and have been frustrated when the characters don’t do that — in many cases because of bad writing.

But what if there were a good reason that they couldn’t leave? What would that reason be?

Well, that’s the question that a new horror anthology asks, and the writers have come up with some great stories that answer that question. Stories like:

This anthology is the brainchild of Nadia Bulkin and Julia Rios. I had the opportunity to interview them about this anthology in a recent Lovecraft eZine Podcast episode. (Several of the writers joined us: Christa Carmen, Joe Koch, and Suzan Palumbo.)

We’re aiming for a publication date in spring of 2024. Also, because we firmly believe that some of the best stories are, as they say, uninvited, we’re holding an open submissions call in August to fill the rest of this book.

I don’t promote a lot of Kickstarters, but I really believe in this one. I feel that it’s a very original idea for an anthology.
