Short film: “Pickman’s Model”

I received the follow email from Mark Philip Lichtenstein:

Hi! My film (Pickman’s Model, based on the short story by Lovecraft) will be shown on June 30 at Fright Night Film Fest. It’s in competition, though I have no idea what the odds will be like. Anyway, I don’t know if many of your readers plan on going to Fright Night but if you could mention something about this on your blog I’d really appreciate it…

Pickman’s Model, a short film based on the story by H. P. Lovecraft will be screened in competition at the 2012 Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville Kentucky on Saturday, June 30. If you’re in the area or already planning on attending the festival, come check out the film at the Galt House Hotel, Segell room @ 9:30pm (Supershorts Group C). The festival has told me their schedule may change but if it does it will be posted. The current schedule is here (pdf).

If you’d like to see the film on Vimeo (and we encourage you to do both), you can watch it below.  We’re very proud of this project and we hope to bring more Lovecraftian horror to the world in coming months.

Watch Pickman’s Model below, and be sure to click “full screen”.  If you can’t see the movie below for any reason, click here to watch it on Vimeo.

Adapted by Zoe Samuel from the short story by H. P. Lovecraft and directed by Mark Philip Lichtenstein, Pickman’s Model tells the story of Thurber, an effete patron of the arts and poseur who visits the studio of Rachael Pickman, a disturbing artist.
