‘Historical Lovecraft’ Giveaway!

The good folks behind the new book Historical Lovecraft contacted me, and they want to give away 2 free copies to Lovecraft eZine readers!  They left it up to me how to choose who gets ’em, so… tonight at 10pm CST, I will randomly select two people matching the following criteria:

This giveaway applies to old and new members alike, so if you meet all the above criteria, you’re already in the drawing; if not, do it before 10pm central time tonight!  YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY WON!!  (Sorry, I was channeling the ghost of Ed McMahon for a second there.)

This looks like a great book — if you don’t win a free one, then they are offering 20% off the usual price, through tomorrow.  Order your copy here.  (Plus, our friend William Meikle has a story in Historical Lovecraft; let’s support him!)

Here’s a short synopsis, from their webpage:

Historical Lovecraft, a unique anthology blending historical fiction with horror, features 26 tales spanning centuries and continents. This eclectic volume takes the readers through places as varied as Laos, Greenland, Peru, and the Congo, and from antiquity until the 20th century, pushing the envelope of Lovecraftian lore. William Meikle’s inquisitor tries to unravel the truth during a very hostile questioning. Jesse Bullington narrates the saga of a young Viking woman facing danger and destruction. E. Catherine Tobler stops in Ancient Egypt, where Pharaoh Hatshepsut receives an exquisite and deadly gift. Albert Tucher discovers that the dead do not remain silent in 10th century Rome. These are tales that reimagine history and look into the past through a darker glass. Tales that show evil has many faces and reaches through the centuries. Tales that will chill your heart.

Join us in our journey through horror and time, if you dare.

  1. I really appreciate the updates on good books. I am happy as well that you don’t have to join Twitter or Facebook for a chance to win.

I would like to see a little bit more about Clark Aston Smith.

I also want to alert Lovecraft readers about a good deal I found at Hastings book stores. I was able to pick up the trade edition of “Lovecraft Unbound” for just $5.99, edited by Ellen Datlow. 22 stories by authors dealing with topics in the Lovecraft World (back cover blurb). Published in Sept. of 2009, so other brick and mortar stores may have it in a markdown bin as well.

    Amazon want $13.57.
