Nameless Horror Is Coming To Your Kindle. And Your Nook. And…

Hey folks!  Hope all of you are having a great week, and that you’re enjoying issue #4.  Some great things are coming to The Lovecraft eZine, and I wanted to tell you about them:

  • I’ve had numerous requests to make each issue of the ezine downloadable to Kindle and Nook, and I’m happy to report that within just a few days, this will become a reality (thanks Neal and Ruth for all of your advice!).  I’ll make issue #4 available for Kindle and Nook first, then do the same for the other three issues.
  • Lovecraftian Sherlock Holmes stories are coming soon!  I’m a huge Holmes fan, and I loved the anthology Shadows Over Baker Street, a collection of Sherlock Holmes stories set in Lovecraft’s universe.  (If you haven’t read that book, I highly recommend it.)  Stories will be by William Meikle, Bruce Durham, and others.  (If you want to submit a Holmes/Lovecraft story, email me at michaeldaviswriter@gmail.com)
  • The drawing for Dead But Dreaming 2 was a big hit, so I’m going to do it again.  If you would like to win a free copy of Dead But Dreaming 2 AND a bookmark signed by the great W.H. Pugmire, all you have to do is (1) Comment below and (2) Sign up for email updates at the top right side of this webpage.  If you’re already signed up, then all you have to do is comment to enter the drawing.  I will use a random number generator to pick the winner one week from today, Thursday, May 19, 2011.  (By the way, I can’t say enough about the original Dead But Dreaming Lovecraftian anthology; if you haven’t read this book, you really should.  It’s one of the finest collection of Lovecraft stories ever published.  Click here to buy a copy, buying it through this link supports this website.)
  • Last, I’m once again accepting submissions to The Lovecraft eZine.  Stories pay $50.  To submit a story, please read the submission guidelines, then email your story to me at michaeldaviswriter@gmail.com .  If you have submitted a story and have not heard from me yet, you will, within the next couple of days — I promise.  Past submissions were so numerous that I fell behind in getting back to people, and I apologize for that, but I’m catching up.  Thanks for your patience.

That’s all for now, folks.  Thanks for reading!

Mike Davis

  1. DBD was for many years the finest anthology of Lovecraftian stories available anywhere. It may still be, as it has (in my opinion) more outstanding stories than Cthulhu’s Reign or Cthulhu Unbound 1 and 2. I found Lovecraft Unbound to be overhyped to do it’s more mainstream media presence. I am still working through Black Wings, which is so far magnificent. I am looking forward to DBD2.

    • Heh. Me too (or rather, I got it for my birthday yesterday). I’m really enjoying it. It pushed me over the edge in realizing that I have to make the ezine available for the Kindle and Nook.
