Readers of LOVECRAFT EZINE are Amazing!

Earlier today, I asked for help with Lovecraft eZine — Because of my illness, I need financial help to keep it going, and people to volunteer their time.  Quite a few people replied and offered help with both.  I am flabbergasted. In my wildest dreams I never thought I would get so many replies and emails.  The readers of this magazine are truly amazing.  THANK YOU.

It is obvious that The Lovecraft eZine is important to a lot of people.  That is humbling and gratifying.  When I started this project, my goal was to contribute to the Lovecraft community by offering a quality online magazine that allowed people to read great Lovecraft-inspired stories, for free.  I did not do it for myself; I did it because Lovecraft — both the man and the fiction — mean a lot to me.  And I wanted to give back.

And now, there is something else that means a lot to me: My fellow Lovecraftians.  You are people who “get it”.  You understand why Lovecraftian fiction is important.  You share my love of it.  I’m so happy to have made so many friends with this project.

For the record, this magazine means a lot to me.  It was a terribly hard decision to make when I said that I could not continue because of my health.  I cannot stress enough how hard it was on me.  My point is that I want everyone to know that the quality of Lovecraft eZine will continue.  My other point is that I’ve learned a lesson: Ask for help.  Because sometimes, people can surprise you and you might just get it.

To those of you who volunteered help: I’m going to email all of you this evening and weekend and work out a plan.

Bottom line: The Lovecraft eZine is back to stay.  Details to follow, but issue will be up soon!

By the way: We could use another couple of artists, as well, to illustrate the issues.  The artist I have now is wonderful, but doing the art every month is a huge undertaking.  Let me know if you would like your artistic skills to be featured in the magazine!  Comment below, or email me at michaeldaviswriter@gmail.com

  2. I’d be willing to do some artwork if it will help out. Usually pencil/pen/ink but I’ve a scanner. At the least it would be some extra artwork you could cram in somewhere if you want.

  6. Thank you to all that were able to volunteer, this is a wonderful magazine Mike has here and I am incredibly happy to see it continue. The Lovecraftian community is just awesome! Lets see it flourish! IA!

  9. Hooray!!!! I shall have to alter my cynical view of human nature!!! I love the Lovecraft eZine and was so sad to see it come to an end. Writing my wee vignettes for you was something that I so looked forward to, and the writing of them helped to keep my own creative flame burning at times when I would otherwise have suffered completely from block. I look forward to writing many more for you and your readers! My heartfelt thanks to those who offered help. We are family!
