On to the links…

The Worry of Newport [game page, download page]: I just found this today, and it looks simply amazing.  Praise for The Worry of Newport: The Worry of Newport is as authentic a Lovecraft experience as I’ve ever played. — The mod’s atmosphere is second-to-none. — This is art.  — Game description: Drowning and alone, you find yourself at a strange fishing port.  Just who are you… and where are you?  The port around you is destroyed, and the island around you is still and foreboding.  A fierce storm rages overhead.  Welcome to Newport.

Watch the official trailer for The Worry of Newport below.  I love the music in it:

Michel Houellebecq is Missing: Here’s something strange: Michel Houellebecq, the author of the awesome Lovecraft biography H.P. Lovecraft: Against the World, Against Life has disappeared.  [He] failed to show up for a scheduled reading tour of the Netherlands and Belgium and cannot be reached by his publishers… Piet Joostens, who organized the readings, said he was not aware that anyone had reported Houellebecq’s absence to the police.  “I wouldn’t panic yet,” he said. “We have no concrete evidence that he is a missing person. Of course we are worried. It has happened before that he doesn’t answer e-mails, but it is rare for him not to show up to meet his public.”  I will keep you posted on this as news is reported.

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land: I’ve posted about this game before, and I just heard that it is now available for the iPhone.  Game description: Set in the midst of World War One, the game pits a team of investigators and soldiers against an ancient enemy, older than humanity itself, who is using the carnage of the great war to build an undead army deep beneath the battlefields of Europe.  (Game designer Tomas Rawlings is a fan and supporter of Lovecraft eZine — thanks, Tomas, for the donation!)
