Lovecraftian Links: Tin Tin vs. Cthulhu, the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and Miskatonic University gear

(James has some more links for us — thanks for the help, James! — Mike)

Murray Groat, Illustrator, brings us two galleries of artwork for your enjoyment: firstly, his Lovecraft Series and secondly, his Lovecraft and Herge gallery which shows some fantastic covers to Tin Tin / Lovecraft books that never were, unfortunately.  Don’t miss this one either.

Blogger and artist, Michael Bukowski, is drawing his way through the entire pantheon of Lovecraft creatures.  The blog features a monstrosity a day with the correlating passage which describes it.  Extra points for the blog name: Yog-Blogsoth.  Wish I had thought of that.

The H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival will be in Portland, Oregon on Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st.  It looks like 15 short films are on the roster currently if anyone is in the area, it looks like maddening good time for fans.  If any of our readers are attending, we’d love to hear about it!

Arkham Bazaar is a website selling a vast line-up of Miskatonic University and Cthulhu-themed goodies.  They boast a collection of wearables, films, amusing bumpers stickers and other mildly kitschy, but nonetheless entertaining swag.

The Miskatonic University store at Arkham Press (a CafePress site) has some rather great designs that are worth checking out as well.  The Fighting Cephalopods.  Classic.

Thanks for reading and be sure to send us any links you’d like to see featured on the site!

Like us on Facebook, subscribe to keep us going and donations are always appreciated.

Until next time,
James L. Carey

  1. I’ll be on hand at the HP Lovecraft Film Fest in Portland in support of Strange Aeons magazine (www.strange-aeons.com), signing copies, selling my art prints, doing custom illustrations and selling some mythos fiction for Perilous Press (www.perilouspress.com) in which the brand new David Conyers Novelette will be available on hand to purchase and for me to sign (I did the interior illustrations).

  2. The HPL Film Festival will also be showing two feature length films. The Whisperer in Darkness, by the HPLHS and Die Farbe (The Colour), a German version of The Colour Out of Space.
