W.H. Pugmire update (Monday night)

I’m posting this from my Blackberry so hopefully it works. I asked one of Wilum’s many friends, Scott Edelman, if he could call Wilum at the hospital tonight for an update, as I was not able to. He did, and he just sent me the following email:

Feel free to share the following on your blog —

I just got off the phone with Wilum, who sounded in much better spirits — and much stronger — than yesterday. He was visited today by S. T. Joshi, Jessica Amanda Salmonson, and a couple of others, and they all arrived at the same time, which he says was fun, though a bit tiring.

He also said he’s been undergoing lots of tests, and is waiting to see whether the doctor will sign off on the results. He’s hopeful that he’ll be released tomorrow at 9:00 a.m., but probably won’t know anything definitive until the morning.

He also said that he’s thankful for all the good wishes, and apologizes in advance for the fact that he won’t be strong enough to respond to each one individually. When he gets out, he’ll try to do one brief video blog letting us know that he’s home, and then rest,

So let’s keep our fingers crossed that goes well tomorrow.

Scott Edelman

  1. My beloved Cristien has been taking care of mom while I’ve been in hospital and will be taking care of us both until we, at last, put my mother into a rest home. Cristien has been one of the real heroes of the hour, and I cannot praise him highly enough. I love him with all my soul.

vERY WEAK, GONNA try to stay in bed. Doctor’s appointment Friday morn

  2. We’ll all have to be strong and not smother him with the telephone attention we’re all itching to give him, I’m guessing. Though I’d very much like to talk to him, I think we have to be mindful that he’ll need his rest once he gets home.

So I’ll give him an hour.

    Maybe two.

  3. Wonderful news! Hope the tests turn out well. It’s so like Wilum to be worried about responding to our good wishes, isn’t it. Silly boy!
