Adam Niswander with H.P. Lovecraft

I asked artist Andrea Bonazzi about this, and he “found” the below photo of Adam with HPL.  Artist Steve Santiago created the banner you see above, at my request.

Thanks, guys.

I also want to repost the following from Adam’s Facebook page.  He wrote it on July 10.

Ultimately, it is the people who matter. People. Lovers, loved ones, companions along the way, —the people who have shared things with us, life lessons, travels, unique experiences. And I have seen wonderful things. I stood in a room excavated under a house in the ruins of Pompei—a rich man’s house with murals on the walls still bright with color after being buried in the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. I climbed up into the ruins of the Colosseum in Rome back before everything was roped off and gated, and I went down into the Catacombs. I stood before the Venus de Milo in the Louvre in Paris, and before the Mona Lisa. I saw the golden death mask of Tutankhamen in the British Museum. I stood in wonder atop a mountain in Costa Rica as hundreds of hummingbird of all sizes hovered around me thinking I was a flowering bush. I climbed a small mountain on the Island of Majorca, Spain, to a tiny monastery on the top and shared mass with the monks who lived there. What was it that Roy, the replicant in Blade Runner said at the end. “I have seen things you would not believe . . . all those . . . memories . . . will be lost in time like tears in rain.”

We miss you, Adam.

Andrea Bonazzi says, “I’ve found him talking with HPL in front of an ancient Pueblo in Arizona, with the symbol of the Salt River’s Pima-Maricopa Indians as a medallion, leaning on a strange tablet…”

    • enjoying the joke?! i think HPL is just proud to be sitting with Adam, look at that smug, cat-caught-the-canary look on his face.

  1. I did not know Adam but now know of his work. The family and friends who knew him, he is only gone physically, in memory he will always be. And in his literature, he is immortal. So here is to the memory of Adam and to his literature. He will be with us in these aspects.
