Your feedback about the video shows needed

There doesn’t seem to be as much interest in the Saturday night shows as there used to be, so I am probably going to stop doing those.  And I’d like to get everyone’s opinion on the Sunday shows:

How important is the Sunday 6pm ET show to all of you? Is that something that you would miss if I no longer did it?  Please comment below.

I created the video chats as a way for Lovecraftians to get to know one another and just “hang out”, in a way that text just can’t accomplish.  Is this something that’s still important to you all?  If not, it won’t hurt my feelings, I just want to provide the service if it’s wanted, and if not, that’s okay, too.

Thanks for your feedback!

  1. I appreciate the effort in running the chats. Unfortunately, the warmer weather means I’m usually busy both Sat and Sun evenings, but I preferred Sunday in the winter.

  2. It’s 8:00 PM Sunday 8-4-2013 and I just finished spending a very interesting, informative and entertaining 2 hours watching and listening to another great Sunday night Lovecraft eZine episode. The interview with Darren Ormandy was great. Pleeeease do not end the Sunday gig.
I try to make as many Saturday episodes as I can. I watched a lot of the gaming episodes but some are just too late. Last night was at midnight EST. I can handle 10 to midnight on Saturday. If you absolutely feel the need to drop one please do not make it Sunday. Just my own selfish opinion. Thanks for all you do Mike.

  3. I’ve participated once, but don’t feel my Lovecraftian knowledge is at the appropriate level to make many useful contributions. That aside, I would miss the Sunday chats, as I enjoy watching them.

  4. I don’t get to watch the Sunday evening show all the time but at least I try. The Saturday show was never on my schedule. If you stopped the Sunday video chat I would miss it.

  5. I’m just a watcher, not a participant. Sundays work best for me, since I usually am doing things away from the computer Saturday nights.

  6. I love to see Sundays continue. I was invited to the last, I believe Saturday show with W.H.Pugmire but had to leave due to an issue with my mic. It turned out I had a conflict with 2 soundboards but I have the conflict resolved. Saturdays fall to late for me – With my own health issues it is hard to stay up until Midnight EDT. But the earlier Sundays are fine by me.

  7. I’ve only watched a couple live but I do love catching up on youtube when I have the time. I’m always a week or three behind, but I would hate to see them go completely. Hell, I’d hate to see any part of them go. Do what you’ve got to do though, Mike. Everyone will understand, I’m sure.

  8. i love the idea of a time and place for HPLites to gather, get to know each other and share thoughts. Saturdays and Sunday, ironically, are the worst days of the week for me. Weekends, especially evenings, in general are primarily devoted to family time and isolating myself to watch the shows is not in the cards. So a weeknight when I’m either on the road and could watch in a hotel room or in my home office would mean I could join in. An alternative is if they were less often – like once a month then I could plan ahead for the time, even on weekends.

  10. For me Saturday nights are the only time that works. I think the whole concept is great and I wish I could participate on Sunday, but family time has to come first. Of curse I am a complete early bird so staying awake late on Saturday is pretty unnatural for me, alas.

I think the idea of regular chats with Lovecraftians is terrific and the real question is are you able to maintain the schedule; in other words, is doing regular chats just too demanding? If you can’t maintain the schedule, here are a few suggestions:

    1. Try to arrange a different host for one of the chat times, like have a late night host, but still sponsored by the eZIne and on the website.
    2. Switch to every other week maybe.
    3. If you think the chats are too frequent for the level of interest, maybe switch to specific events, like your Ramsey Campbell chat. In other words, have fewer chats but make them perhaps more enticing to viewers.

Anyway, it would be a shame if the format went away entirely.

  11. I was never really able to attend the Saturday chats due to the timing of them usually, but I like the Sunday chats.

  12. I’ve really enjoyed these. But I’m not able to watch them every week. I think it would be a pity to cut them out altogether.

  13. Quite enjoy the Sunday chats…..deeply regret not being able to attend as often as I would like to…perhaps after the madness that is NecrononmiCon.

  14. I’d miss them. I can’t attend as often as I’d like due to my wonky schedule. Maybe if they were less frequent, like once every couple weeks.
