Kindle/Nook TEST Version For Issue 4

In case you missed it, here is the test Kindle/Nook version for issue 4.  Click here to download it, then upload it to your device.  Please give me feedback by commenting below.

By the way, here’s a little Q and A from the Facebook page which I hope clarifies why I went with PDF for now:

Luke Forney: The .pdf version looks pretty solid. Are you planning on converting it to epub and .mobi formats, or just .pdf?

Me: Ideally, I’d like to. However, this ezine takes up a lot of time, and there’s only so much that I can do. I might have to do the PDF version for now. I think it looks pretty good — it’s just that it does not have clickable titles, which is not a big deal in a small publication. If I had 20 stories per issue, it would be different.  If anyone who is better at this than I wants to take on the job of converting each issue to epub and mobi formats, I’d gladly take the help and give you credit, link to your site, etc. If no one wants to do this, then for now I’m going to do pdf versions.

So, if there’s an expert out there reading this, there you go.  Until then, I created this version so that people can read The Lovecraft eZine on the go.  CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PDF, then upload it to your Kindle or Nook.  Please comment below with your thoughts!

  1. I viewed this on the iPad with Goodreader, and it was fine. I found the font size a little big for reading as a single page to a screen, but with the device held ‘landscape’ and set to double pages (like reading an open paperback) it was great.

The look is quite spartan, but I understand what you’re trying to do with limited resources. I appreciate the fact that we get the PDF option at all, as lots of the places I use the iPad don’t have wireless.

I’ll convert this to Kindle and give it a run like that when I get a mo, just FYI.

    Keep up the great work.

  2. Looks tickety on my iPhone 🙂 opened fine in iBooks etc.
I’m currently investigating eBook / PDF creating for hopefully a SoFoMoBo project (prob spelt that wrong!) I’ll try and have a go at converting it later and try putting it on the kindle in both formats. I’ll give you feed back and if it was easy (lol) I’ll happily do that for each issue. I know what trying to cope with life and Fibro is like too well so I’ll help if I can.

  3. Just downloaded it to my Kindle 2, & it looks fine. I didn’t convert it, just put the PDF on my Kindle using the USB cable. Thanks for offering this option for reading the ezine!
