Lovecraftian Art Showcase Project!

I received quite a few emails yesterday in response to yesterday’s call for story illustrators (and if you haven’t heard back from me yet, you will today).  A big THANK YOU to everyone who spread the word!  There are a lot of talented dark artists out there.

So… all those responses gave me an idea: In future Lovecraft eZine issues I would like to showcase original Lovecraftian art.  As I say, there’s a lot of talent out there and I’d like to give dark artists more exposure.

What I want is: Original Lovecraftian art.  If it has been published elsewhere, I don’t want it, no matter how good it is.  It doesn’t have to be all creatures and tentacles.  Some ideas: scenes, characters, but most of all artwork depicting the themes of Lovecraftian horrorRead past issues to see what kind of stories I accept, and hopefully that will give you an idea of what kind of art I’ll accept for each issue of the magazine.

I will pay $5 for each accepted piece of original artwork.  You’ll also get an incredible amount of exposure, and high profile links to your website.

Be sure to put your name and website address somewhere appropriate in the picture.  Many people on the web think nothing of stealing someone else’s art and pretending it’s their own.

Email your submissions to me at michaeldaviswriter@gmail.com !  Good luck!  🙂

Mike

  1. This is a good idea; you can’t have too much Lovecraftian art. Maybe if you get enough submissions you can try publishing an art book. There really aren’t too many of them if you discount comic books. Here’s my list: http://www.amazon.com/Still-more-modern-Lovecraftian-fiction-and-art/lm/R2DKOQROKAJINU/ref=cm_lm_byauthor_title_full

Some other books that aren’t available through Amazon include The Black Velvet Necronoicon, published by Mike Dubisch after it was fundde through Kickstarter. Also there was the catalogue Dead and Dreaming available on Lulu.com
