Themed issues

As you all know, I am not accepting unsolicited submissions at the moment, though that will likely change in a few weeks.  However, I want to do several themed issues this year, and if you write for a themed issue, you can still submit.  Here are the themes:

  • Halloween themes for the October issue.
  • Christmas themes for the December issue.
  • Lovecraftian Sherlock Holmes stories for an issue sometime this year.
  • Deep Ones/Dagon/Innsmouth stories for an issue sometime this year.
  • AND, I want to do an “Woman-theme” issue, for lack of a better term.  For this issue, I want female writers only.

ALSO, I would like some Lovecraftian female art submissions; both males and females may submit art.

As always, each theme must also fit into the general Lovecraftian theme; you can read more about that on the submissions page.  General submissions guidelines are here.

  1. Hi,

I’m interested in contributing to the “women-theme,” but I already have a story waiting with you. Would you allow multi-submissions for the themed issues?

    • Hi Darrlie! To answer your question: I’m not sure what the “all-female” issue really means, and I’d love the help of female writers to DECIDE what it means. What it does NOT mean is female characters having to be rescued by men, etc. In Lovecraftian fiction, there are very few female protagonists, and I’d like to have an issue that focuses on women being the heroes of the story. I hope that helps or at least points you in the right direction.
