I was fortunate enough to be sent a review copy of The Thing on the Doorstep, an upcoming movie produced by Will Severin. I posted about the movie previously, but had not yet watched it at that time.
Well, I’m happy to report back that this movie is every bit as fantastic as the trailer suggests. I’ve been given to understand that right now, the film-makers are shopping around for a distributor. One thing that would really help is if a lot of people comment below, and/or click the LIKE button, Tweet button, etc, below this post. Since an extreme amount of Lovecraftians read this website, this post could potentially be something that Will can point to, to show the interest in the movie.
Another way to show your interest is to LIKE the movie page on Facebook, here. It’s also a great way to stay in the loop with upcoming news about the movie.
The Thing on the Doorstep is creepy, very true to Lovecraft’s story, with some great performances. Here’s the latest news, from Will:
We’re awaiting word from a number of film festivals around the country and a few in Europe. We’ll keep you all in the loop as to where the film will be playing, as soon as we know. Tom, Mary and I hope to be making some trips around the country this fall to support the film at various genre festivals and look forward to meeting other Lovecraft fans.

I generally like (pun not intended) to keep my facebook clean of all non-family posts; however, I will galdly like this on my fb and tweet it as well. This looks great.

Really can’t wait. This is one of my favorite HPL stories, and it’s long been on my wishlist for a good, solid film adaptation. 😀
