Own “AM 1200” on DVD – only 200 copies left

My friend Joe Pulver looked over my recommended Lovecraftian movies page a while back, and asked me why AM 1200 isn’t on it.  “I haven’t seen it!”, I replied.  And no wonder: According to Joe and others, it showed at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival a few years ago, and there were very few copies available for purchase.

According to rumor, there is no way to get a copy of this movie.

Well, I’m glad to help dispel that rumor: I contacted the film’s creator, David Prior.  He told me that there are about 200 copies left, which you can order at his website.  You can purchase AM 1200 on DVD for only $14.95.

Joe told me that this is one of the best Lovecraftian movies of all time, and was kind enough to let me borrow his copy.  I watched it earlier this week, and I was blown away.  He was right.

Yeah, it’s that good.

Do yourself a favor, though: Don’t google it.  Don’t watch the AM 1200 trailer.  You don’t want to ruin the experience of watching this movie, because it truly is great.  Here’s all you need to know:

Haunted by recent events and on the run, a man finds himself the unwitting pawn of a possessed evangelical radio station and like his unfortunate predecessor must ask himself whether it is better to reign in hell than serve in heaven.

So, only 200 copies left; buy them before they run out.  Here’s the link: Buy AM 1200 on DVD.

(Coming soon: An interview with the film’s creator, David Prior.  Email me at michaeldaviswriter@gmail.com if you have a question for him about this movie.)

  1. How’s this for a chaser:

“‘All I could see was the cable wire running from the T.V. going down into the hole. I saw a corner of the bed and a corner of the box spring and the frame of the bed,’ he said.”

That sinkhole in Florida is insane.

  2. This is a great film with an awesome finish. It’s a short running about 30 minutes. Maybe 45. Get it now! And check out Dirt Digger while you’re at it.

  3. Hi Mike! I wondered at first why you hadn’t listed AM 1200, as well. i figgered it was bcoz, as far as i know, it’s not based on an actual Lovecraft story, even loosely. Although I’ve had a copy of the film for a while now I so want to own the DVD. Sure hope one will be available once I’m not so damn broke! I think it’s a must-see for all Lovecraft fans & really feels a part of the Cthulhu Mythos to me — it’s not any less connected than the film versions of Cthulhu, Dirt Dauber, and probly a couple of others. I think it’s fantastic!
