PLEASE HELP: Facebook is blacklisting “Lovecraft eZine”

UPDATE: Both Facebook problems are now corrected, and I have no doubt it is due to all of you complaining to Facebook.  Thank you so much.  I very much appreciate it.

Guys, I need help.  Facebook has blacklisted parts of the Lovecraft eZine website; in other words, I can’t link to it to anything in the /chat portion of the site (and some other parts) from Facebook.

Lovecraft eZine IS a safe website. In fact, it is a wordpress.COM website — with wordpress.COM sites, you cannot even use Javascript. I don’t know if this happened because some jealous person reported the site, or what, but the only thing that will fix this is lots and lots of you reporting to FB that IS a safe site.

In addition, the Lovecraft eZine Facebook GROUP (the message board) has completely disappeared!

  1. Go to Facebook.
  2. Click the gear icon at the top right side of the page.
  3. Then, click REPORT A PROBLEM, and let FB know that Lovecraft eZine is a safe website. Please include the URLUnder “product” or “category”, using OTHER should work fine.
  4. When you are done, please click the (ironically) Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus buttons below this post to spread the word.

Last time, the only way we got Facebook to fix this was for hundreds of people to report that Lovecraft eZine was safe.  I guess we have to do that again.

I’ve worked really, really hard to build this up, and if I can’t link from Facebook to Lovecraft eZine, that will severely affect the magazine. Please help.

  1. Not sure what’s going on (and sorry I didn’t get to this earlier), but both Facebook pages appear to be back up and running as of now. Can you confirm?

  2. You really should strongly consider ditching FB altogether and moving over to Google Plus. It would be the perfect place to host the Lovecraft eZine community.

  3. UPDATE: Unfortunately, when I sent the email to FB (with a bcc to you), I got back a reply stating “You’ve reached us at a channel that we don’t support. Please visit the Help Center to find answers to many frequently asked questions and up-to-date forms you can use to contact us:“. Not good. But hopefully the “Report a Problem” message will get through.

  4. I heard about your problems via Monica Valentinelli. Shared the info on my timeline and tried to link to one of the blocked sections so I could get the ‘blocked’ message and report it as a safe site. Hope that helps.

  5. I just tried linking to the site in general. It blocked this link as well. I’m sorry, Mike. Trying to spread the word and I’ve followed up with Facebook for you.
