World War Cthulhu is an anthology of Lovecraftian War Stories from the Fall of Troy to the Distant Future.  With stories by Stephen Mark Rainey, Pete Rawlik, Robert M. Price, Christine Morgan, William Meikle, Tim Curran, Jeffrey Thomas, W.H. Pugmire, and many more.

“The world is at war against things that slink and gibber in the darkness, and titans that stride from world to world, sewing madness and death. War has existed in one form or another since the dawn of human civilization, and before then, Elder terrors battled it out across this planet and this known universe in ways unimaginable.

It has always been a losing battle for our side since time began. Incidents like the Innsmouth raid, chronicled by H.P. Lovecraft, mere blips of victory against an insurmountable foe. Still we fight, against these incredible odds, in an unending nightmare, we fight, and why? For victory, for land, for a political ideal? No, mankind fights for survival.

This book chronicles these desperate battles from across the ages, including Roman Britain, The American Civil War, World War Two, The Vietnam Conflict, and even into the far future.”

  1. I picked this up last week on Amazon and have read about half of it. So far my favorites are the Vietnam story (THE BOONEYMAN) and the Harrison Peal story. I recommend this book to any Lovecraft fan, but especially for anyone who likes the DELTA GREEN sub-genre.

  2. I am extremely excited about this book, because its theme of war has inspir’d an array of original and captivating approaches to the Cthulhu Mythos. This anthology emphasizes, brilliantly, the timelessness of Lovecraftian horror, the knowledge that these cosmic deities have been here before the creation of earth, and will exist beyond the planet’s annihilation. The artwork for the book is simply fantastic.
