TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2015: READ THIS UPDATE FIRST.
First of all, if you are considering going to NecronomiCon (August 20-23)… do it! It’s an incredible convention, packed with panels, academic talks, Lovecraftian gaming, films, art, and much more. And it’s held in Providence, the home town of H.P. Lovecraft.
Here’s a link to this year’s panels.
But if you can’t go, I consider it my job to make you feel like you’re the next best thing to being there. And this year, I have some extra tools to help me. I was lucky enough to get an iPhone for Christmas, and there are some great live-streaming apps now available. In other words, you’ll be able to watch some activities, LIVE (where allowed), and they’ll be recorded as well!
And not just events. As great as this convention is, the best part is hanging out with other Lovecraft and Weird Fiction fans. I’ll stream conversations, get-togethers, etc. (as long as it’s okay with those present) Like I say, it will be the next best thing to being there, so spread the word to other Lovecraft fans.
And I hope that if you can’t make it this year, watching my live streams, reports, and photos will encourage you to attend the next NecronomiCon.
(How do you watch the live streams? Stay tuned, but I’ll either be using Meerkat or Periscope — most likely Periscope. I’m going to test both apps before then with you guys.)
A big thank you to Niels Hobbs, Joey Shea, Sam Gafford, and so many others who work so hard to make NecronomiCon possible.
BELOW: A few videos from NecronomiCon 2013!
Here’s a nice write-up of NecronomiCon 2013, by Justin Steele.

Great to hear this news Mike D! I was at the last one and know how much fun it was. ( To be honest there was so much going on I couldn’t get to half the stuff I wanted to see.) I can’t make it this year but this it is the next best thing for sure! Thanks!
