The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person story-driven mystery game that focuses entirely on exploration and discovery… You play the game as Paul Prospero, an occult-minded detective who receives a disturbing letter from Ethan Carter. Realizing the boy is in grave danger, Paul arrives at Ethan’s home of Red Creek Valley, where things turn out to be even worse than he imagined. Ethan has vanished in the wake of a brutal murder, which Paul quickly discerns might not be the only local murder worth looking into.
Your web site is plain fun and frightening, in that it attracts the horror within the viewer and reader of Lovecraft style genre. This talk and video will be on a watch list, since my husband is writing his PHD.
I found a writer who bespeaks much of what the creator of this Internet Blog piece seems to understand: some individuals or people have unusual circumstances that quite make others feel uncomfortable-speaking such as the existential horrors that are normal in young people but tend to frighten the other teens in social areas such as school studies and popular non- curricular high school activities.
Here is the basic concepts Garret Caples in his Poetry Foundation articles states that appears to come up in the discussions on this Lovecraft web blog…I wrote my own understanding of his Caples article:
Dreams, (Freudian Psychology and Surrealism ) come together to “reign in the individual’s anti social desires and reintegrates him/her into society.” “While Surrealism,” sees the “individuals” crazy desires that come out sometimes later in life from hidden dreams, to “initiate both the individuals liberation and transformation.” Which I see as an individual finding a place for himself/herself in the society/community which they feel accepted. Including the individual’s existence and abilities developed from childhood, period of teenage growth and adult placement in life.
Differences in opinion aside, language, whether literary, societal, or historical-politically accurate, provide the loop wholes for people to pass because they have found a public that includes much of their own desires and motives. Too much again, and my husband says I speak out of place. No one agrees or but wish I would stop writing and talking of the “cuff.” Sorry, Mrs. ATK
