For our first show in October, I thought it would be fitting to talk with crime writer Trent Zelazny about his work, and about his father’s work. If you’re a fan of Roger Zelazny‘s A Night in the Lonesome October, then you’ll know that it’s a beloved novel that many re-read every October. It’s a classic, with definite Lovecraftian elements.
Trent has some great stories about his dad writing A Night in the Lonesome October, and he’s agreed to share those stories with us. I’m looking forward to talking with Trent not only about his father’s work, but his as well. I’m a big mystery fan, and Trent is a very talented crime writer. Trent has been blurbed by Neil Gaiman, Joe R. Lansdale, Tom Piccirilli, Joe Pulver, and others. (Purchase his books here.)
As usual, we’ll be giving away books on today’s show to live viewers! I’m going to give away one copy of A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny, and one copy of Butterfly Potion by Trent Zelazny. Most likely we’ll have other books to give away to those of you who watch or listen later in the week, as well.

One of my favorite genre tributes. I always enjoy re-reading this book in October. Can’t wait
